Cats on Campus

Did you know there are cats on campus?

If you’re an animal lover like me, then I’ve got some great news for you! There are three cute kitties living on campus that would love to hang out with you!

Out by the CEB, or the Carlson Education Building, you can occasionally catch a glimpse of one of the three cats that live on campus. All three cats are black cats who are distinguishable by their size but that doesn’t take away from the fact that they’re all super cute. On days with good weather, you might even be able to see all three sunbathing by Ham Hall. Sometimes the cats will also wander into different parts of campus and walk by your side while you make your way to class, making for great company.

These cute cats are actually owned by UNLV and the university faculty have even taken up the task of caring for the cats. Worry not, all three cats are vaccinated!

The staff who care for them even went out of their way to spay and neuter the small felines so we don’t have to worry about any kittens wandering around campus. While the staff feed and care for the cats, you can also stop by and give them a meal (they’ll definitely appreciate it).

By Ham hall, you can find some bowls so if you ever happen to bring cat food with you, you can feel free to drop it in. If you don’t have any treats to offer to the kitties, sitting by them in the grassy area is always an option too. They don’t mind company and its a definite bonus to have a cute cat sitting by you while you’re studying. If you get lucky, you might even get the chance to pet one! So if you find yourself with some spare time, try finding one of the campus cats!
